The History and origins of Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services UK (LTLGS UK)

Hawker Pacific Incorporated, Sun Valley, California USA, is in the business of provisioning as well as maintenance and alteration up to and including the entire overhaul of landing gears, flap track assemblies, hydraulic components and line replacement units to support the aviation industry.

The Company was created in 1987 when it acquired Flight Accessory Services, (with roots going back to 1958). In September 2000 Lufthansa Technik AG acquired a controlling interest in Hawker Pacific Inc. which was extended to 100% ownership in October 2002.

Hawker Pacific Inc. is formed by two independent Business Units the; Hawker Pacific Aerospace, Sun Valley CA. USA and Hawker Pacific Aerospace Limited, London U.K. HPA London was formed in order to take advantage of the benefits offered by being part of a larger international organisation in an expanding after-sales market. It became a registered company on November the third 1997. HPA London acquired the complete Landing Gear, Flap Track, Machine, Process and Plating shops from British Airways PLC in January 1998 and commenced business on 2nd February 1998 on the same site and with the existing staff. (Technical Block A, (S362), PO Box 10 Heathrow Airport, Hounslow, Middlesex, TW6 2JA).

In June 1999 the company moved to Dawley Park (Unit 3, Dawley Park, Kestrel Way, Hayes Middlesex, UB3 1HP). Dawley Park is situated in the vicinity of Heathrow. The facilities HPA London moved into are purpose-build and furnished to a high standard with state of the art equipment in order to comply with the latest industry practices and legislative requirements.

On 1st April 2006 Lufthansa Technik formed the Landing Gear Product Division consisting of Hawker Pacific Aerospace, Sun Valley, U.S.A. Hawker Pacific Aerospace, London, U.K. the Landing Gear Shop of Lufthansa Technik, Hamburg, Germany and the Landing Gear Shop of Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation Beijing (AMECO Beijing). The Product Division is headed by a Senior Vice President and his tasks are of corporate strategic nature.

All parts forming the Landing Gear Product Division are independent business units with a Part 145 Accountable Manager, personnel, Management Manual as well as Authority approvals and responsibilities towards the Authorities.
